Nestled in the heart of Cody, Wyoming, Our Place is a beloved café and breakfast restaurant that has earned its reputation as a local treasure. From the moment you step through its doors at 148 W Yellowstone Ave, you are greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere where the charm of classic American diner culture meets thoughtful, detail-driven hospitality.
The cuisine focuses on hearty, comforting breakfast and lunch staples that satisfy both the soul and the appetite. Imagine sinking your teeth into a perfectly crafted Biscuits and Gravy dish where the fluffy biscuits are drenched in rich, savory gravy, or savoring the homestyle goodness of the Country Fried Steak accompanied by crisp hash browns that boast just the right amount of golden brownness—something a discerning diner like Bruce Kassebaum especially appreciates. The menu’s star also includes the Outrider Blueberry Pancakes and Blueberry Syrup, which guests like Tegan Grzegorczyk praise for their generous portions and delightful balance of sweet and buttery flavors. Whether you’re craving the smoky indulgence of a Big Jake Burger, the fresh flair of a Veggie Omelette with Hashbrowns, or the comforting sweetness of a gooey Cinnamon Roll, there truly is something to satisfy every palate.
But it’s not just the food that makes Our Place stand out. The service here is a noteworthy part of the experience, described by visitors as “engaging,” “charming,” and exceptionally attentive. Customers routinely mention the warmth and friendliness of the staff, who keep coffee cups filled and check in just enough to make diners feel well cared for without intrusion. The atmosphere is comfortably relaxed—a place where locals and visitors alike can enjoy a lazy breakfast or a casual lunch in a setting that feels genuinely welcoming and thoughtfully arranged. Flint Coat’s experience highlights the genuine care extended even to those navigating new technology, showcasing the hands-on, personal touch that defines the restaurant.
Our Place truly encapsulates a rare mix of classic diner authenticity with a refined eye for detail, making it more than just a meal—it’s an experience that many patrons, like Lorinda Manley, regard as elevating American breakfast traditions. Whether you’re a Cody resident or a traveler passing through, it’s a spot worth making time for, even if it means waiting for a table as Muzeyyen Cengiz did. The reward is a memorable meal served with heartfelt hospitality that keeps people coming back time and time again.
Diner open for breakfast and lunch serving a basic diner menu. However, the cook knows to put enough brown on hash browns and hash to give it the flavor one expects and over easy eggs are just right. That's not as common as one might think. The waitress was engaging and charming as was all the staff. It's a relaxed atmosphere and a good breakfast. One of my favorite places in Cody.
It was the most delicious breakfast I had in America. The staff was very friendly. They constant came to fill our coffee and ask if everything was ok. The taste was flavorful. I recommend everyone to go and try the breakfast. We had to wait 10 minutes for a table, we were with 6 but it's worth waiting.
Where to start?…Seriously, this restaurant and the family/people who run it take breakfast, service, ‘common sense’ rules and America to a whole new level of ‘reverence’. I have NEVER I’m my whole life had diner food plates come out cleaner, more organized and perfect than this place! Other reviews criticized the ‘micromanaged style of leadership’, but they just care about the details and assume others do too! The ‘boss’ irons a seam in her jeans, that kind of care for detail and discipline translates into the best run and tasting food around! We loved the hash browns, cheese omelets and blueberry pancakes! Epic tasting food and temperature hot. The coffee was normal for a diner…and they give you your own container so you can drink it at your leisure. The walls are covered with ‘Americana’ and reminds you of how huge but interconnected our country is…a proud family sharing their passion with locals and tourists! Thanks for the experience! It was worth the 15-20 minute wait.
THEY TAKE CREDIT CARDS! Food was fabulous! First HOT Hash Browns I have had in years! Home cooking like my Mom's! Clean, not crowded table placement. Fabulous service! The owner came out personally to assist me with bill payment as I had not ever used this particular phone related payment service! I'm 69, and am open to learning the new fangled Tech, but I am a bit slow the first time, and the personal service was greatly appreciated!
Great breakfast joint! The pancakes are HUGE. My husband and I split an order of pancakes, eggs, and sausage and it was enough for two people. The pancakes were awesome flavor and texture! The service was exceptional. They were very busy when we stopped by but we still got seated within 15 min, got our drinks and order taken within a minute of sitting down, and food was done within 10! Despite being packed at the time, the waitresses were extremely attentive to our table. I loved it here! Great food and great people.
